My standard fee for a regular session is $125. Sessions normally last 50 minutes. In special circumstances, I do have a sliding scale, beginning at $75 per session.
I offer a complimentary 30 minute session to clients who are uncertain about whether they are ready to commit to therapy or are uncertain about whether they want to commit to therapy with me. I do this because I believe very strongly that a solid therapeutic relationship is necessary for successful therapy. There’s a certain amount of chemistry involved — a therapist can be a wonderful, effective fit for clients A, B, and C, but for whatever reason might not work well with client D. That doesn’t mean the therapist is not a good therapist or that client D wouldn’t benefit from therapy. It just means the fit isn’t right. There isn’t the right chemistry.
For groups, I charge $50 for each 90 minute group session, or $200 per month. Those paying monthly get a slight discount when there are five group meetings in a given month.
I do not directly contract with any insurance companies. Some policies provide for at least partial reimbursement of independently contracted therapy services. At the end of each month, I will provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company.
