images-4Do you ever feel like this? Like you’re in the midst of a storm and you just lost your protection? Or like you’re being buffeted by huge waves and you don’t know if you’ll find a safe harbor?

Life is hard. At least it is for many of us. And life is full of loss and grief. We speak of broken hearts, and life can break your heart. But it can also break it open, and that is the reason that I love working with people who are grieving. Really being present with pain and grief — stepping into the fire of it — can be the catalyst for extraordinary growth. I’ve seen it. It’s hard work, but it can be the most important work a person has ever done.

Not everyone I work with is coping with grief. Although I think many people who are struggling with depression or anxiety or broken relationships have some sort pain and loss that that they have never really addressed. Even with loving families, just growing up and figuring out how to be an adult entails dealing with a lot of pain and hurt and confusion.

So many people are longing for more — more meaning in their lives, more and better relationships, work that is more fulfilling, more ease and fun and acceptance within their own hearts, minds, and bodies. More balance. Therapy can help you find it.
